Dramen Del

"Thousands of years ago a great war took place, a war of gods."

"Hello all, I am Ganam Oore. Scholar, historian, and expert on ancient religions & languages."

"Draman Del is a virtual goldmine of ancient stories. Here is a little bit of it's history."

Year 00 - The Day of Separation, Galinor dies and Marg’s soul is split.
There was a time where the gods chose our world as a battlefield. They created the mortal races as their armies. After at least a thousand years of war comes the hour of the final battles.

The Light God's armies barricaded themselves in Galinor's fortress and the monstrous Dark armies besieged them for five hundred years. It was on that day, the Day of Separation, Galinor, supreme God of Light chose to sacrifice himself in order to end the war.

The weather was dark, the sky filled with lightning and thunder, when Galinor opened the Fortress doors to battle with the enemy. At their side there were Savanah, known today as "the survival goddess" and few mortals, Galinor's favorites, among them: Gadrath the Immortal and the gigantic Draman, the Red Warrior.

On the other side, leading the Dark Armies, there were Zn'Marg, the supreme Dark God, followed by a crowd of Dark Gods. Among them: Xagon and Mardan, gods death and plague, Hyssiyan, Kadram, Demexa and many others. There were also some mortals, among them: seven Black Generals commanding the Dark Legions.

Legend tells that Galinor called his favorite, Gadrath, and spoke to him for a brief moment, then silently turned against Zn'Marg drawing out his light sword. Zn',Marg looked at Galinor's move and laughed: "Look brothers, the last God of Light is about to die!". Saying that Marg drew out Varadah, his fearful black sword, and advanced.

But, while Marg was coming, Galinor summoned all his powers and polymorphed himself into lightning, throwing all his being against Marg's chest. The soul of the Black god was split by the incredible impact with the essence of light and all the dark gods behind him were shaken. While Galinor's essence was dying and Savanah's eyes were filled with tears, in the sky flew seven pieces belonging to the soul of the Dark god: seven black lights, later named the Knights of Discord.

The dark gods quickly cast a powerful spell to unify the soul of the Black god, which was split but not dead. This was the moment when mortal history was born. Never before had a mortal dared to interfere with the gods; now, that mortal existed and his name was: Gadrath the immortal. Gadrath, the wizard, advanced on the battlefield together with the gigantic Draman who wielded his sword forged by Galinor itself: Neterah, then known as "The Guardian of the Night". In the meanwhile the Dark gods concentrated his powers in order to unify the broken soul of the Black god and the seven shards began to approach one another.

Suddenly Gadrath casts a powerful spell onto the Red Warrior’s sword who, raised the weapon in the middle of the unifying shards

The black lights flew away, repelled by the power of the Light and they found refuge in the bodies of the seven Black Generals who instantly fell to the ground senseless. After a sign from Gadrath, and the army of Light emerged from the fortress doors. Over half million horsemen in gleaming armor, the same number of archers and two-million infantry swarmed onto the battlefield

Under normal conditions, they could never win because there were three times as many dark armies has them but the Dark gods were tired after casting the reunification spell and the morale of the army was severely shaken by the fall of seven Black Generals to the ground. While the two armies clashed with a rumble like a thousand thunders, the Dark Gods quickly retreated taking the bodies of the Seven Generals.

The Battle raged for four days; it was told that Draman slew more than a thousand enemies wielding the guardian Sword singing with joy.

When everything was over Savanah, who was the last goddess on the battlefield, laid her hand on Gadrath's shoulder saying: “You begun the mortal race’s history, from this moment, you will forge your destiny on your own. As long as the Guardian Sword remains in the hands of Light, Marg's soul cannot reunify.” With these words Savanah become a comet and disappeared into the sky.

In the centuries after the Guardian Sword was secured, Gadrath hunted all of the Dark Gods, and the hiding places of the Seven Knights of Discord.

While the hosts of Marg's power slept Gadrath slew the Gods one by one with the help of the descendants of Draman The Red and other friends that become legends such as: Sworn the Silver Archer or Fidenath the sly or Rangh the Steel General.

After six thousands years none of the Dark Gods were alive, but Gadrath was not able to find any trace of the Knights of Discord. Frustrated by fruitless searching, the arch-mage gave the guardian Sword to the Draman’s, descendants of Draman the Red and retired to anonymity. But before leaving he made the last prodigy. The Night Guardian was inset in a great quartz disk that became the table around which the Seven Kings of the North reunite every year. The sword appeared only at night and Gadrath commanded that a man of royal blood watch the Sword all the time.

Year 01- The Draman nation and others are born, the nomads go eastwards.

A year after the departure of Savannah, the mortals races went there seperate ways. To the east, now called Akrindor, the nomads went.

To the west, now the province of Brudic in the nation of Corvel, the Draman (human) nation was born. Elves, Dwarves, and Orcs went their seperate ways as well, to form there own nations.

Year 05 - The killing of the Dark Gods begins, Gadrath leaves with Draman the Red, Fidenath the Sly and Svarn the Silver Archer for the mines of Rombar where Xagon and Mardan are hiding.

Gadrath, Draman the Red, Fidenath the sly, and Svarn the Siilver Archer hunt down the remainder of the dark gods. The remaining dark gods powers were greatly depleted now that Marg was gone.

Xagon and Mardan were seen in the mines of Rombar. It is not known if they were found and killed.

Year 2023 - The god Kadram, last of Marg's powerful dark gods, mobilizes all the Zenith people and leads them to attack the west. Together with Rangh, the Steel General, Gadrath built Draman Del, defeating and killing Kadram.

Draman Del was built and defended. It was built in the the only pass from Akrindor to Corvel, through the Judgement Mountains. Kadram organized the barbarians (Zenith tribes) and assaulted Draman Del.

translated from Edreben the Blind, Chronicles
"In the year 2023 Kadram, the most powerful dark god, made moves to attack the west. Safe from the lethal rage of Gadrath the Immortal, he brought all the godless Zenith people together for the first and only time, mobilizing them for war.

But Gadrath was not caught unprepared. He built Draman Del, a mighty fortress encircled by seven walls. Gadrath spoke mysteriously about the fortress as a thing of the future. Gadrath was joined by the charismatic General Rangh, nicknamed “The Steel General” by his men for his strength.

The war lasted two years and was long and bloody. Four of the seven mighty walls had already fallen, when the Steel General issued a personal challenge to the god Kadram. The Judgment Mountains quaked and the armies were stunned at such daring.

On the Third wall, swords clashed with an unearthly sound and the man clad in steel used all his strength against the dark being towering over him.

The city’s very stones trembled when Rangh’s shining blade impaled Kadram’s body and his screams shook the whole region. But the god counter-attacked quickly, wounding Rangh in several places. Exhausted and with blood-spattered armor, Rangh retreated, with his back to the wall. Gadrath the Immortal appeared in the doorway just as Kadram’s black blade broke Rangh’s sword and pierced his chest armor. From the bastions, the General’s soldiers groaned and helplessly watched Rangh’s giant frame falling to the ground.

Now Kadram turned against Gadrath, whose clear eyes were shining with hatred. He whispered: “You have condemned yourself, Kadram, now behold your defeat!” Gadrath’s eyes began to shine, firing out flashes of blue lightning and hitting Kadram repeatedly. Finally Gadrath lifted his arms, the sky darkened and clouds suddenly appeared from nowhere. The trembling Kadram forged a shield of darkness but a lightning bolt flashed from the clouds, shattering the shield and hitting his weakened kneeling body. Then Gadrath approached him grimly, lifted his staff and pronounced: “This is for the Steel General that should not fell before you, but whose bounty will pass into history!” Gadrath cracked his staff violently over the god’s head with a bright flash. This marked the demise of the dark god, Kadram."

Year 5955 or 116 pre - Gadrath disappears after the miracle of the quartz table. The draman are the keepers of the Guardian Sword.

The Birth of Corvel. Barlo the 1st, now St. Barlo of Marigor, founded the nation of Corvel as a confereration of elder kingdoms. He built Castle Marigor, the ancient seat of power.

This was 116 years before the Rellianite Calender started.

Year 6063 or 8 pre - Loss of Life

Mortisse d’Nor’krindor (an evil early queen of Corvel) raped the lands of Akrindor for their resources .
